Privacy Policy (POPIA & App Store Compliance)

1. Introduction & Responsible Party

CornerCart ("we", "our", or "us"), operated by CodeWays (Pty) Ltd in the Republic of South Africa, provides a hyper-local neighbourhood and residential estate storefront platform connecting buyers with local merchants and water/gas refill providers. We comply strictly with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA), Apple App Store Privacy Guidelines, Google Play Data Safety Standards, and Huawei AppGallery Privacy Requirements.

2. Information We Collect

• Account & Delivery Profile Information: Name, email address (for passwordless 6-digit OTP verification and order receipts), mobile number, residential estate/suburb name, unit/house number, and gate delivery notes.
• Location Data (Optional / User-Initiated): When you search for your residential estate, street address, or nearby community stores, we process address queries and coordinates via Google Maps Platform APIs to match nearby local merchants.
• Camera & Product Photos (Merchants Only): When store owners use the AI Product Studio to photograph a product for their catalog, the selected image is uploaded to remove the background and display the item on their public storefront. We never access your camera or photo library without your explicit action.
• Order & Subscription Records: Items ordered, empty bottle pickup preferences, order statuses, and merchant subscription billing history processed via PayFast.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate your account via passwordless 6-digit Email OTP.
• To transmit your order details, unit/house number, and empty bottle pickup instructions to the local store you ordered from.
• To send real-time order status notifications (Order Placed, Confirmed, Fetching Empty Bottles, Out for Delivery, Completed).
• To process merchant SaaS subscriptions via PayFast.

4. Data Sharing & Zero Third-Party Ad Tracking

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to data brokers or third-party advertisers. Your delivery details are shared strictly with the specific merchant store from which you place an order.

5. Account & Personal Data Deletion

You may permanently delete your CornerCart account and all associated personal data at any time:

• Inside the CornerCart Mobile App: Tap the Profile icon in the top-right corner → scroll to the bottom → tap Delete My Account and confirm.
• On the Web: Visit https://cornercart.co.za/delete-account.
